Katherine Hirschfeld, Assistant
Professor of Anthropology, University of Oklahoma, and author
of the book, Health, Politics, and Revolution in Cuba Since
1898, will speak on "Michael Moore and the Mythology
of Cuban Healthcare: A View from Academia" on Thursday,
January 10, 2008, 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Casa Bacardi, Institute
for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies, University of Miami. The
lecture is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and

Carlos Alberto Montaner, author
and columnist, will speak on "Marti's Relevance for Cuba's
Future" on Monday, January 28, 2008, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at
Casa Bacardi, Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies,
University of Miami. The lecture will be held in Spanish. It
is free and open to the public. To reserve, please call 305-284-2822.
